GGG 126

From June 12th to 18th 2017 the Group Philatelic and Numismatic Vallisoletano organized in Valladolid an exhibition with the name: ExFiVal 2017. At the expo an exhibition of Police and Gendarmery philately. This travelling exposition, which had before been in the cities Palencia, Avila, Alcalá de Henares and Madrid, composed by D. Manuel Moral Fernández has been divided in 5 big (continental) groups, and is about the security forces in the broadest sense of the word.
The exposition contains not less than 640 pages. Especially for this occassion the organization had a special postal stationery been made by Correos, the Spanish Post, and also on the advertising posters the safety forces were well represented.
The poster was also used for the Postal Sationery and as image on the special exhibition envelop.

And off course we also find our theme back between the shown stamps. Amongst others the Police and Guardia Civil stamps from respectively 1999 and 1994 have been used:

The Isle of Man Post every year earns a nice amount from the TT-races on the island. Also this year a number of collectors items has been issued. The presentation of these collectibles has been overthrown with shade by sad news from the Isle of Man: unfortunately another rider has deceased during the IOM TT-races. Daley Mathison (27 years old) has perished during the Superbike race.

The first item concerns a coin set with the famous rider Steve Hislop who died in a helicopter accident. To honour him 2 bi-colour coins of 2 pounds have been produced with images of Hislop in his racing career.

The coins have been packed in a numbered folder containing many images and a lot of information. In the folder also the stamp from Hislop out of the series of 2017 has been included, but this time canceled with a gold coloured postmark with the anniversary stamp.

Three special coin sets have been received by his family. The numbers 11 (Steve scored 11 times the number 1 position), number 19 (Hizzzy's number during the legendary Senior TT-Race in 1992) and 120 (the round speed record that he set as first).
In total 1000 folders have been made, three have been given away, thus 997 remain for you to score one for £ 25.00. The loose coins can be purchased unlimited for 4½ kilos less.

Off course signatures have been gathered again for charity on enlarged coins made of carton, which will later be sold by auction for charity. This newsletter is however not thick enough to list all the signers, so......

Another collectors item has been produced by the post together with the London 59 Motorclub. This year this club celebrates its 60th anniversary and therefore they liked to have something special as souvenir.
In co-operation with IOM Post a special envelop was made, franked with 4 of the 2018 "Great British Motorcycles" stamps and cancelled on Mad Sunday (this year June 2nd) at the TT-Grand-stand post office. If you also want to purchase one of the 500 envelops, you have to pay £ 15.00 for it. Yes, IOM Post knows what to do with your money.

The new stamp from Djibouti will probably not be included in everybody's collection. Djibouti, a small republic, jammed in between 3 countries (Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia) and the Gulf of Aden, issued a stamp on May 27th 2019, with an image of the "March for equality". This march is held every year at the end of the Ramadan on the day of the Sugar Fest in the capital of Djibouti.
On the picture a (probably electric) scootmobile on which a man and woman "walk" along in the procession.

It is not visible on this image, but there is also a text in Braille on the stamp. The stamp has been issued in a set of 2, with on the stamp of 1000 Djibouti francs the help to disabled children depicted. The edition is limited, as from the 1000 FDJ stamp only 15000 pieces are available and for the fans of the 3000 FDJ stamp only 3000 pieces. This 3000 francs is the equivalent of just a bit more than € 15.00, thus not a cheap stamp, but the money is completely donated to charity: Agence Nationale des Personnes Handicapées (ANPH) of Djibouti.
