Personalised stamp with Solex

One of the nicest Dutch personalised stamps, in my opinion, is this one, with a Solex rider in cartoon style, who looks surprised at a snail overtaking him.

The stamp has been made in 2010 by our member of that time Marjan Versteyne.

A few months ago I got the jubilee book of the Jouster Solex association "Altijd Onder Weg" (in English: Always On the Road), better known as Solexclub AOW, in my hands. This club celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2021, and has published on the occasion a book about the ins and outs of this colorful association.

And what was my surprise: on the front cover of the book I found this Solex rider! He appears to have been drawn by comic artist Frans Verschoor, known for the comic strip about the adventures of the Dutch duo Bassie and Adriaan. His name is placed in small print under the rear wheel of the Solex, but cannot be read there due to the low resolution of the image on the stamp.

Frans was an enthusiastic Solex rider himself, and also a member of AOW. This drawing has also been the AOW club logo for many years.

In the book 4 pages are devoted to the drawings of Frans, of course several of them with a Solex:
