I was approximately 6 years old when I started collecting stamps. My 6 years older brother had been collecting them for some time, and I found the small pieces of paper fascinating – and I still do!
Well, there came some years that boyfriends were more interesting than my stamp collection. But I came back to the hobby before I became 20 years old, and then it was Norwegian stamps that I was interested in.
It took some years before I became member of the collector club here in Trondheim. When I had told there that I collected Norwegian stamps, they told me that was "easy peasy", and I should find something more to collect.
Some told me that I should think about postal history from my hometown. I was not interested. Others told me that I should start with something thematic, something I could combine with other interests. Yes, I liked that idea.
And it was at a joint meeting with a Swedish collecting club that I found my first 6 stamps with motorcycles. At that moment my thematic collection was born. In this way I could combine two interests: riding my motorcycle in the summer, and collecting stamps with motorcycles in the winter.

One day, by accident, I came over MFN and asked for membership. Lucky me, I was accepted as a member – and it has been useful for me. But some years ago I resigned as member because I was not busy with my collection anymore.
After I retired from work, I have decided to work on my motorcycle collection again. And last year, 2025, I came back as a member of the MFN.
And there are two vintage motorcycles in my garage – Suzuki Savages (650cc) from 1986 and 1988, so almost 40 years old – and hopefully one of them will be on the road again. It would be nice riding my motorcycle in the summer and collecting stamps in the winter again.
